From the CRCP2014 Conference Co-Chairs:
The Caribbean Regional Conference of Psychology (CRCP) Organising Committee welcomes all delegates and their guests to Paramaribo, Suriname, for our 2nd Caribbean Conference of Psychology - CRCP2014. Exactly three years after our inaugural meeting in the Bahamas, we are able to join together again and this time to explore "Caribbean Psychology: Unmasking the Past, Claiming Our Future" while continuing to build on the foundation of Nassau, 2011.

CRCP2014 will take place from November 11 to 14, 2014. CRCP2014 is the Caribbean's largest event devoted to the science and practice of psychology within the fields of health and wellness, education and training, child and youth issues, non-communicable diseases and organisational wellness. Our Paramaribo venue will provide participants with a forum to exchange ideas, discover novel opportunities, reacquaint with colleagues, meet new friends, strategise, and broaden our knowledge of psychology's progress in the region.

Our home this year is Suriname; the multiethnic, multilingual, epicentre of the Caribbean, providing an ideal location to represent the Caribbean with all our socio-cultural diversity and natural wealth. We are pleased to have Professor Marcia Sutherland, State University of New York, and Pan-Africanist David Commissiong of Barbados, as the keynote speakers. In addition, we have Caribbean and International plenary speakers in a scientific program that includes several jointly organised symposia.

We thank our organising committees, colleagues and volunteers who have assisted in making this conference come to fruition over the last 20 months. We thank our hosts and local colleagues for their commitment to this conference and anticipate a very engaging week in Paramaribo. As delegates, we hope you will also find the time to enjoy the diverse culture, music, art forms and human warmth of Suriname.

We wish you a superb CRCP2014 conference experience and a memorable stay in Suriname. Welkom.

Donna Maria Maynard Ph.D. and Keith W. Lequay Ph.D.
